Our Preacher, Reed Lohrenz

Reed grew up in Kansas.  He first started preaching in 1980 filling in when other preachers in the area went on vacation.  Two years later he decided to preach full-time and enrolled in the Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock, Texas.  He graduated from the Ministerial Program and Missions Programs.

After graduation, Reed began preaching full-time as an associate minister with the Eastwood Church of Christ in Hutchinson, Kansas for two years.  He then moved to Hays, Kansas, and preached for the Hays Church of Christ for eight years.  On August 1, 1994, he began preaching for the Central Church of Christ in Yuma, AZ

After six years of preaching at Central, he decided to take a break from full-time preaching and began an insurance and investment business with MetLife.  He continues this work as a partner of Entrust Wealth Management in Yuma.  In October of 2006, the Central Church of Christ invited him to join them in the work once again as their minister, a position that he is privileged to hold to this day.

Reed has always been passionate about helping people.  As a preacher, his desire is to help them “grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

He earned his Bachelor's degree from Fort Hayes State University, in Hays, Kansas concentrating on communications and psychology.  He continued his education with graduate studies in Counseling.

He enjoys reading, traveling, camping, hunting, fishing, and spending time with Kathy, his wife of 46 years, his two daughters, and six grandchildren.
